Welcome to the new Top Prospect Showcase Baseball Program from Woodall Baseball Academy. We are excited to bring elite level college showcase baseball to Woodall Baseball Academy.
Our mission is to provide elite level high school players access to college recruiting showcases as well as competitive baseball league and tournament play. Most importantly, our goal is to provide each player involved in Top Prospect guidance on what to expect and how to prepare for playing baseball at the next level. We feel that many players, while having the talent and skills to play at the collegiate level, are not fully prepared for what to expect and the work ethic it takes to succeed at the next level.
Top Prospect will not only give players opportunities to perform in front of college coaches and professional scouts, our coaching staff and resources will prepare each player for success at the next level.
Top Prospect is led by Brad Woodall, former Major League Pitcher with the World Champion Atlanta Braves (1994-1996), Milwaukee Brewers (1998) and Chicago Cubs (1999). Brad also was a pitching coach for the Tampa Bay Rays organization and Madison College. Brad will offer a unique and diverse background from his experience with hall of fame players and coaches as a former collegiate (UNC Tarheels), minor league and major league player, professional and collegiate coach. His perspective and experience will provide valuable insight into how to become a successful player at every level.
For more on Brad and his background, please go to our About Us page.
Our goal is to have one of the best Showcase Baseball Teams in Wisconsin. Top Prospect is for players with the skill and work ethic to play at the collegiate level. We will travel to various college showcase tournaments during the fall, as well as other scheduled games against other highly competitive teams.
This team will be an elite level team that plays other elite level teams. Our primary purpose is allow each player to perform in front of college and professional scouts. We will evaluate each player and provide guidance on the work it takes to prepare, improve, and play at the next level. In addition, we will consult with each player with honest feedback on their current skill level and how to effectively market themselves to college baseball programs.
Fall Schedule consists of 6-7 Weekends of College Showcase Tournaments (e.g. NIU, Illinois State, Michigan State, etc.) and Scheduled Games with other Elite Showcase teams in Wisconsin
Tentative Schedule is for weekends of August 25-26 through October 13-14

TOP PROSPECT PHILOSOPHY
Our first goal is to assemble a very talented team to compete at a high level in college showcase tournaments, in front of college coaches and pro scouts. However, our primary goal is to coach and mentor each player with honest feedback with regard to their college baseball potential, and provide instruction that will put them in better position to play at the next level.
Earned Opportunity Approach to playing in college baseball!!
I know from my experience being recruited nationally, playing 4 years at the University of North Carolina, and having numerous relationships with current college coaches, that we as coaches will not get a player a college scholarship. Therefore we will never lead a player to believe that we will be the ones to get a player a scholarship. The player will earn their right to be recruited by hard work and developing their talent through consistent work ethic.
We feel that if we can provide the guidance and instill the value of work ethic to talented players, they will be rewarded with an opportunity to play at the next level. We will provide honest feedback and the areas of improvement necessary for each player to play at the next level, with the opportunity to play with and against other players with the same goals.
