What information is in the books?

The books give coaches and athletes specific swimming exercises so the athletes know the purpose of their dryland workouts.  The recommended exercises clearly help swimmers become stronger and more efficient in the water, but understanding WHY the exercise helps freestyle or starts or pull-outs motivates athletes beyond mere strength gains. The cutting edge TRX Straps for Swimmers books help facilitate and create a new forum for enthusiastic dryland training. Additionally, the books discuss the importance of functional training & why the TRX is specifically appropriate for swimmers who move through the water in multiple planes of motion.

 

TRX Straps for Swimmers, Introductory Version

This book lays the foundation for basic exercises & bodylines in the water and outlines why TRX training is different than other training modalities as well as what the swimmers and coaches can expect to accomplish from the TRX.  The exercises in the Introductory Version are not easy to perform, just more simplistic in nature and need to be mastered before progressing into more complex exercises.  Each exercise has photos showing how to do the movement.  Additionally, a sample workout is included which demonstrates how to run a dryland session with 30 athletes and 10 TRX’s.

This purchase includes a set of (17) 8.5x11” laminated Circuit Cards to be used as visual aids during dryland workouts.  Each Circuit Card has at least two photos of the TRX Straps for Swimmers Introductory exercises.

 


 

TRX Straps for Swimmers, Strokes & Details Version

This book focuses on 2-4 specific exercises for each stroke (fly, back, breast, free) and detail (starts, turns, streamlines) and also advances some of the Introductory Version exercises.  Rotational exercises are introduced and more technical details are offered for coaches wanting to advance exercises.  Additionally, a recommended 10 minute warm-up and 10 minute stretching sequence is included.

This purchase includes a set of (25) 8.5x11” laminated Circuit Cards to be used as visual aids during dryland workouts.  Each Circuit Card has at least two photos of the TRX Straps for Swimmers Introductory exercises.
