"…During my swimming career, I relished every opportunity I had to work with Kari. She has the ability to read every individual, and help that person achieve their goals. She is concerned about people first, and then athletic performance, because good people make better athletes."

ABOUT KARI WOODALL: WOODALL TRAINING , LLC

Kari Woodall’s athletic and coaching experience includes five US National Swimming Team selections and eleven years as an NCAA Division I Swimming Coach.  Kari’s athletics training was enhanced by fourteen years of formal ballet, which gives her a unique perspective and foundation to apply in training others.

Kari attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 1996.  Her collegiate honors include:  Atlantic Coast Conference Most Valuable Swimmer of the Year (1995, 1996), Five-time NCAA Individual All-American, NCAA 200 yard Freestyle runner-up (1995), ACC All-Time Top 50 Swimming Performers, and Scholar-Athlete (1995-96).  She still maintains UNC’s fastest 50 meter Freestyle.

At the international level, Kari was on the US National Team several years, representing the US abroad in Japan, Italy, and Australia.  She was professionally sponsored by Adidas and in 2001, she was ranked 5th in the world before retiring to coach Men’s and Women’s Division I Swimming full-time.  Kari coached for eleven years, including three years at UNC, a year at Northwestern University, and seven years as an Assistant Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin.

Since retiring from NCAA coaching, Kari launched Woodall Training, LLC. She focuses on athletic-based personal training in and out of the water and presents at swimming and dryland clinics for athletes and coaches. She is currently consulting with Fitness Anywhere, Inc.®, the creators of the TRX Suspension Trainer, to develop a comprehensive dryland training program for swimming.

Kari’s transition into private training enables her to spend more time at home with her two young daughters, while still making time to motivate others to achieve excellence in athletics and fitness.
